There was a difference between a 'sunny' summer day and a sunny summer day.
And today was most definitely a sunny summer day. Pale, white liquid slipped out the bottle and past her lips as she stood there with her foot perched on top of the white and blue machine. "Aye, it's a fine day for sailin' such a wide ocean blue." She lifted her hand, shielding her green eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. The lemonade in her glass bottle shifted as she gazed upon the sea. She had invited others to join her, of course. Though, did it mean they would show up? Well, not necessarily she was afraid. "Ain't she a beaut, lass?" The blonde flicked her hair over her shoulder, patting the jet ski gently. She glanced back at the shore, glancing quietly in case of company. She had already gathered her typical bonfire materials (although there were circumstantially less now that she had realized people so rarely did decide to come) in a pile far from the ocean.
Ah, well. Didn't look like anyone was coming. Oh well! She could live with it. She'd just have her own party and they'd all be jealous. Their loss. Fallon took another swig of her lemonade, holding the bottle between her lips as she hurriedly tied back her hair and tightened her neon green bikini top. She rummaged through her bag, pulling on her sunglasses before hopping onto the jet ski. The blonde grasped one of the handles of the machine, her other grasping onto the glass bottle. The engine roared to life and Fallon zoomed off over the waves. She screamed, holding the bottle high over her head before the machine went faster. "Crap, crap, crap!" She fell backwards into the ocean, jet ski stalling out just a little ways before she rose from beneath the waves.
"...today was most definitely not a good day for sailing."

He had set off early that morning, sunrise to be exact. Bag packed, new neckerchief tied and tired muscles moving again, Carter set off for Snowbell Beach for the first time in ages. In fact, Carter has only just gotten back to Ivy Point after an extended stay in the city with his family. The visit was needed, as it had been years since he went out there, but it had been months now since he had seen his lovely ocean. Well, his friends too, but most people he had lost contact with. He intended to fix that but... well, now wasn't the time to dwell on those things. He intended to enjoy himself today.
At last finishing his camp site, Carter walked down to the shoreline. Nothing could bother him now. A relaxing day by myself... all about me. Just be lazy and be in the water! Nothing could ruin this- As usual, his thoughts were interrupted. A jet ski whizzed by, going far too fast for the shore, and making Carter squeak a little. Wh-who the hell would be stupid enough to do that so close to shore?!
That was answered fairly quickly. Through the swells and harsh sunlight, Carter saw a small blonde tumble off the machine. Christ! Why today?! Don't even have my suit on yet! He rush into the water, thinking whoever this was was probably also too stupid to swim back to shore. Goddess it was cold. He had done this many times before, however, and simply ignored it. As he swam closer, he thought the girl looked familiar. He couldn't quite place it... young.... blonde... stupid enough to fall off a jet ski-
"Fallon! What the hell are you doing?!" Carter's head bobbed up and down with the waves, his face a mix of shock and frustration, "Are you brain damaged?"

The sun! The sand! The ocean!
It had been nearly forever since the bubbly blond had gone to snowbell beach and even longer since she’d gone with her two most favorite people. … Hmm, maybe playing favorites wasn’t very nice. There were other people who were her friends to. Actually, the whole town and its inhabitant were. Maybe they’d feel a little jealous that she favored the peninsula’s other excitable blond and their favorite lazy shipbuilder over them… She just wouldn’t say it out loud.
Dashing out onto the warm, powder soft sand, the bikini clad girl rushes across the expansion of sand to where she had agreed to meet her friends. It wasn’t hard to spot the set up that’d be their bonfire. Sure it wasn’t as grand as she was used to, but it was familiar. How long had it been since she’d seen either of them? Carter had left town for a while and Fallon… She wasn’t sure what she was doing. Kitty, on the other hand, she had never left. It was a strange notion to her too.
She had arrived those many years ago with no intentions of staying, but something about that beautiful peninsula town kept her there. The blond had made many unforgettable memories and friends. This was her home and she had no plans of leaving it, besides. Her two best friends were both back in her life! … Although… Where were they exactly? She stood in the stop they agreed to meet at, turning her green gaze to the ocean. Hmm, was that a red head of hair bobbing in the distance? She couldn’t tell over the harsh sunlight streaming down.

Was she stupid? That was a very valid question to which Fallon had no answers to. She wasn't exactly the brightest of the inhabitants of the peninsula, although. The others had most definitely accepted that about her. It made things interesting, right? She brushed her fingers through her hair, kicking her legs quietly to stay afloat. How annoying. That definitely had ruined her day! Her plans to look totally awesome failed. Oh well. She'd just get back on later! She paid to borrow that darned contraption and she'd be damned if she gave up only after one try. That was weak!
She took a sip from her bottle, gagging slightly at the now salty sweet taste of her lemonade. Yeah, bad idea. Very, very bad idea. Ew. She'd never get that taste out of her mouth now! She shuddered, shaking her head for a moment before glancing at the shoreline and eying a particularly odd sight. Red? ...a monster, perhaps? No, wait. Fallon squinted, looking closer as the strange sea creature moved in her direction. What was that? Or rather, who was that? It looked eerily human. And she only knew one redheaded person in the town. "E- Eh? Carter?"
She turned her gaze to the bottle, rubbing at her eyes. "That water must have had some kick to it or something. Seein' visions!" Fallon waved her hand in her face before observing the other. Yep. He looked so real! Must have been a vision cause he disappeared off the face of the Earth a whole ago, didn't he? Fallon lifted a hand, moving to pinch his nose. "Boop." He was there! Whoa! So she wasn't seeing things! Oh and look! There was Kitty! She lifted a hand, waving at the other blonde before returning her attention to Carter.
"Ionno. What d'you think, ya dork? No brain damage here!"

Carter's face remained stony as he was 'booped'. "Get on that water ski and get back to shore!" He tried to sound as stern as possible, but a warm managed to break through. Wow, how long was it since they had had their last party? Or put on spontaneous plays for the town square? I guess that was what happened when you grew up...
Wiping the brine from his face, Carter looked from Fallon to the shore grinning, almost in disbelief still. "Man, Fallon, how do you even manage this stuff." He was half laughing now, which made wading a bit diffucult. "I got a camp set up, we could hang out back there and-" His words caught in his throat suddenly and his face contorted into something horrifying. He had finally caught sight of the girl waiting back on the beach.
"Kitty!" Carter spluttered before going under from a small wave, coming up coughing and clinging to the jet ski. Oh noooooo! Why? Why me?! He cursed just about every thing he could, his already red face now nearly matching his hair. He wasn't prepared for this! He hadn't seen Kitty in about as long as he hadn't seen Fallon, yet he couldn't shake that long time crush. Could it even be called a crush after so long? Oh damn, he couldn't go back to shore looking like this. Then again, he looked worse than ever now, shaking like a leaf and mumbling to himself.

Squinting her eyes into the blinding sunshine, her green eyes beheld the pair of heads bobbing along with the frothy waves. Was that a blonde she spied? And there! Was that a head of red hair she saw right next to the blonde? Oh! Could it be? Was it really so? CARTER AND FALLON? … But what were they doing in the water? Weren’t they supposed to be meeting on shore? Oh well, all these questions weren’t answering themselves and she didn’t need to keep adding to them. Nope. Not at all.
“HEEEEEEEEEEEY~!” She called out, cupping her hands around her mouth. Dropping one arm to her side, she raised the other and waved it with bursting excitement. Well, she wasn’t just going to stand there and wait for them to return to shore! Who knew how long they’d stay in the water for. Swimming was always so much fun and she knew that she herself could stay in the water for hours. While she wasn’t sure if they felt the same way, they were taking an awfully long time.
Well, if they hadn’t seen her waiting for them at shore before, they must have now so there wasn’t anything to worry about then. She let herself plop down on the sand with a muffled thump, drawing her knees to her chest as she made the decision to wait for them. It wouldn’t be long now or so she assumed. They couldn’t play together in the water forever, especially knowing she was waiting for them. Maybe she should have swam over to them? But that was a far swim. She’d wait.

Well. Wasn't someone being cranky? "Party pooper." She mumbled, puffing out her cheeks in frustration. How rude! Not even a nice hello! Nope. Just a quick scolding. She was most definitely not a child and she most definitely as in D E F I N I T E L Y did not need the other treating her as such! She was an adult now! ...or at least, as close to one as she could really make herself be. It was a daily struggle, she wasn't going to lie. She moved, swimming closer to the jet ski before pulling herself out of the water and back onto the machine. Hmph. She was only doing this because she thought it was the right thing to do and not because Carter told her so.
Okay, maybe it was part of that too. She crossed her arms over her chest before glancing down to the redhead. She gave a shrug of her shoulders in reply, laughing a bit. "Beats me. I think it's a rhetorical question really." She clenched onto the bottle, leaning on the handles of the jet ski before hearing the call of the other. She cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting back in reply. "We're coming ashore, Kitty! Just hold on, baby girl!" Oh how she had missed that silly girl and the equally silly boy that now remained in the sea with her- oh crap. Carter. She looked down once more, grimacing as if to imply that she knew most definitely how he suffered now.
Oh dear. Oh, look at that! She couldn't help but giggle a little. He was completely red! Was he really so embarrassed?! She hardly thought it was that bad. And by that, she meant his little crush on the other. It had been how long now? Jeez, she thought, when was he ever going to come out with it?! The day would never come when they got together, she feared. Most definitely something that she, as the standby friend, could not accept! She leaned down, pressing her index finger to her lips before offering a hand to the other. "Don't make a face like that. You're putting all them tomatoes to shame out there." She scooted up on the jet ski, using the handles as her support as she patted the seat.
"You better hurry up and stop mumbling. If we're out here for too long, she's gonna start getting the wrong idea don't you know?" She grinned, winking at the other. "And mumbling to yourself like a lunatic isn't attractive either."

Carter flinched back from the shore before crawling up onto the jet ski. Oh man, oh man, oh man. All he could think of was the last time he and Kitty had done something swimsuit related together and... well, he still blushes from that bathhouse visit. It would be so much easier if she would just get it.
While riding the jet ski back, he couldn't help but think of something. It had been a few years, maybe Kitty had lost her... oblivious charm since then? Maybe he could ask her out on a proper date now. Carter couldn't help but give a sheepish smile to himself. Wow, today was turning out even better than he had thought! "Don't worry Kitty, we're right here!" Carter was sure his voice cracked somewhere in there, but the sound of the water and motor hopefully drowned it out. Dammit, he was getting old! Why did this stuff still happen to him?
"Doesn't this thing go any faster, Fallon?" He half whined, half shouted it out, trying his best to keep his voice from breaking again. Damn that motor was loud.
