1. Ivy Point is a literate forum. That means using capitals, commas, apostrophes, and being able to write with competence. We do accept people who consider themselves to be semi-literate, because we like to see their writing improve. However, they must be willing to try, and be ready to take criticism and suggestions. Please hit the "Spell Check" and "Preview" button before you post.
2. This should be obvious, but no no Powerplaying or Godmodeling. For those of you that don't know, Powerplaying is when you take control of someone else's character. Godmodeling is when your character is invincible, like a god.
3. Again an obvious thing, but no Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. Not only are they annoying, but perfect characters are boring. It is much more interesting to have flawed characters. Along with this rule goes the no despie rule. Characters that constantly need attention are also boring. Besides, most of these characters are adults and self-sufficient.
4. No spamming the site. Basically, don't post random, unrelated things in the boards. For our reasons, double posting will be considered spamming. Wait for someone else to post before you post in that thread again.
5. This site is rated PG-13. That means minimal violence, however, some is allowed, as long as it doesn't go overboard. Swearing is okay, as long as every other word isn't a cuss word. As for romance - kissing, handholding, hugging, and whatnot are all allowed. No sexuality! Timeskips are fine, and we look the other way if it's over PM. If someone else is pressuring you into a PM, and you don't want to, let an admin know with an abuse form. We'll take care of it.
6. You may have as many characters as you'd like, as long as you can handle them. If we see that you cannot handle them, we will send you a warning PM, telling you either to start playing them more evenly, or to delete one temporarily or permanently. This rule is also known as "The Lilly Law".
7. Again, obvious, but please respect each other and each other's characters. We all may get into our occasional arguments, but don't let it descend into an all-out war. If all else fails, contact a mod, and we will help you sort it out.
8. Our fanart/fanfiction policy is that WE LOVE YOU IF YOU DRAW AND WRITE STUFF. Feel free to draw/write anything you want that's Ivy Point related, or even just random. We would love to see your wonderful drawings and stories, so go ahead and post it in the Creativity section. You don't have to, of course. But we sure would like to see it...
