The second Fleta woke up she knew it. Today was going to be an incredible adventure! She wouldn't let having to work tons odd jobs to pay for her food and room at the inn get her down! Let alone the fact that she had to be able to save some of that money to eventually resume her travels. The brunette jumped out of bed and hopped around the room as if she had springs on the bottom of her feet. She got dressed and put her hair into a ponytail before making her way down to the meal area of the inn. Buying a plate of food from the innkeeper, she sat at a table to scarf down her breakfast. Who had time for a slow breakfast when there was adventure to be found? Not Fleta, number one explorer, that was for sure. "No siree, not me."
This was roughly how each morning began for Fleta.
As she pushed herself up from the table, Fleta felt an all too familiar sensation and she let out a few coughs, trying to be as quiet as possible. How irritating... Was all the thought she spared for it, before walking to the door, a spring in her step. The perpetually optimistic girl wasn't about to let anything get her down so early in the morning.
As she stepped outside the inn, a peaceful smile spread across her features and her eyes slid shut as she stretched her arms in the warm summer air. It was another beautiful day. The sun was in the sky, it's early morning light bathing everything it touched in a warm, yellow glow. A few clouds puffed along, perhaps a little too large. Hopefully the day would pass without rain. A morning breeze alleviated the summer heat, cooling the air to pleasant temperature. Fleta began to make her way out into town, red eyes gazing off into horizon as she did so. Where would she go today? Was there anywhere she had yet to explore on the peninsula? She supposed there was always more places to explore, but one area she had so far failed to touch in her visit to Ivy Point were the mountains.
She stopped in her tracks, faced towards the geographical features in question. Fleta had expressly avoided the mountains so far, as higher altitudes made it harder to breathe... Like she needed any help with that. The brunette shook her head, locks of hair falling out of her freshly done ponytail. No way she was going to let something lame get in the way of adventuring. There were always cool things in the mountains. If she was lucky, she'd find something. With a grin plastered on her face, Fleta began making her way north.

“Okay, so if Alex’s theory was right…” Mariah had been up early this morning, as she was every morning. Or at least, as she did on days she had off. Ironically, she slept more when she had to work than on days she didn’t. Too little time to spare when you work two jobs… Even if one of them is practically unpaid. Oh well. The twenty-three year old quickly munched through her bowl of Lucky Charms (Magically Delicious!) and opened a book full of hand written print to a hand-drawn map of the peninsula she lived in. Ivypoint. Her brother was of course, her main reasoning for living here. It was a place he seemed to cherish in his notes, and a place he said on many occasions had a lot to offer in their field. “Then I just need to get to the top here,” she pointed her finger at the point on the map, a small black cat sitting at starring at her finger as if it were a play toy to be chased… “And to get there… Hmmm…” she thought for a moment, closing the book and tossing her bowl in the sink. “We’ll just see how things go. ~ I’ll just follow the clues.” Her brother would have scolded her for not having a plan of action, but while she could give herself some fairly good advice that she’d heard from him many times before his passing, getting her to follow said advice was the problem.
Without further adue, Mariah picked up her backpack of the little safety equipment she actually used while mountain climbing(Which again, her brother would have chastised her for, telling her to bring more), and made her way out into the fresh morning air. This was one thing she really enjoyed about Ivypoint. There was no smog to overpower the fresh, natural surrounding. Either that, or the fairies got rid of it. Well, maybe she could ask one if she was able to meet one today! Her chances were pretty fair. And if not a fairy, maybe her Brother’s research would hold true and there really WOULD be a dragon in the Ash Mountains. Young Mariah could really only hope. She tucked her messy red hair behind her ear, putting on a brimmed hat to keep the sun out of her eyes for the time being (Once she was in the forest at the very least, it wouldn’t be needed.
Today would be a good day for the town’s self-proclaimed Crypto-zoologist. Or so she thought as she went on her way down the old dirt path that had been made by the many people who had traversed it in the past, their shoes eventually carving this away. But this wasn’t that route she planned to take all the way up. The Girl grinned, looking happily at the leather(Fake leather) bound travel journal in her hand. Alex would be her guide. At least, in spirit.

Peering over the edge of the path, down the sheer cliffs, the blue haired eighteen year old swallowed down a lump in his throat. That was a long way down. His face paled at the thought of possibly slipping and falling down that terribly drop. He straightened up in his wheelchair, sucking in a lung full of air and exhaling it sharply. It was fine. It wasn’t like he’d never been in any other types of perilous situations before and the current one wasn’t half as bad as any others.
His blue gaze fell to the one tire of his wheeled contraption, noting the wheel wedged into a crack in the mountain’s stony path. Although the ascent up the Ash Mountains was the easiest it’d ever been, especially in his wheelchair, he hadn’t counted on getting stuck. There was a simply solution, Eden was sure, but he didn’t have the energy to expend by fighting his wheel free. To put it simply, he had gotten himself in quite the predicament and Kaiden wouldn’t be too happy to know.
Rubbing at the back of his blue haired head, he looked from side to side. Well, he hadn’t gotten THAT far, maybe there would be a hiker or two who were out on the mountain trail and would be willing to lend him a hand? As much as the idea appalled him, he wasn’t stubborn enough to deny that he needed help. ….Well, he was, but not at the moment. He wanted to continue on with his adventure and climb the mountain until he couldn’t go any further. He wouldn’t accept it being the end of his fun.
Now… just to wait.
